Fourth time lucky.
I know there must be countless couples whose lives and weddings were turned upside down by this pandemic that has had humanity in a vice grip since March 2020. Uncle Cyril announced level 5 lockdown two weeks prior to our wedding, but “C’est la vie” – “such is life”Fast forward over a year… A wedding dress more than a size too small (lockdown kilos are a thing, I gained 8kgs and through sweat and tears managed to fit back into it in the nick of time), two beautiful pregnant bridesmaids (new dresses to fit their gorgeous bumps), re-organising my service providers for a fourth time and it was FINALLY our turn.

Walking down the isle toward the love of my life, arm-in-arm with my brother, heart pounding with joy, I knew that this day was worth the wait and when my veil suddenly and with purpose blew off and up into the wind, I knew that my father was there with me, giving me away.

Our day surpassed our wildest expectations and our service providers perfectly delivered the vision we shared. A festival of love!
Food stalls for every palate – seafood, curry, burgers and pizza slices, lamb so tender it fell off the bone. A gin and craft beer truck to quench the thirst. Our whimsical flowers in all my favourite colours were even more beautiful than I could have imagined.

We danced and laughed the night away, under the fairy lights, with everyone we love most in this world, excited for the future as husband and wife, with everything this life has to offer still ahead of us.
