Kurt & Shandre Pelston

In March 2021 my husband and I got engaged. The following month we decided to start our wedding planning and decided we want something “different”. We got some inspiration from watching tv and decided we would love to have a wedding in the snow. We then took a drive to ceres and found a beautiful nature reserve called matroosberg. We immediately booked with them knowing that we might not even get snow on our wedding day. A month and a half before our wedding it stopped snowing. But we felt that either way our wedding would be beautiful.
The Thursday before our wedding a cold front approached and the friday it started snowing at matroosberg. The Saturday of our wedding we woke up to a thick blanket of snow and ended up having our dream snow wedding. It truly was a blessed day. Few days thereafter, we made headlines on the news. People were amazed to see a snow winter wonderland wedding right here in South Africa!
