STORIE:

Our wedding was a reflection of everything we are, intentional, romantic, slightly whimsical, and filled with joy from start to finish.

With the guidance of Trunk Events, we brought our timeless Italian summer vision to life at Belair Pavilion in the heart of the Cape Winelands. It was a destination wedding for us, surrounded by jasmine scented air, the laughter of our loved ones, and scenery that felt straight out of a film.

My Mikado basque waist gown was inspired by calla lilies, with petal-like folds, detachable sleeves and a dramatic bow. Later, I changed into a lace mini dress ready to dance the night away. Jesse looked every bit the classic groom in a cream tuxedo jacket with black trousers and suede Horsebit loafers.

Our palette of creams, beige and green created an atmosphere that was dreamy and effortless. Layered textures of linen, travertine stone, chiffon and soft draping added warmth and depth, while the lush greenhouse chapel, overflowing with foliage and floral plinths, made our ceremony feel intimate and alive. We encouraged our guests to embrace “La Dolce Vita” in their attire, and they became the most beautiful pops of colour against our soft, neutral setting.

We wanted our guests to be part of every moment, and not just witness it. We placed mini versions of our vintage style wedding cake on each table so everyone could cut their own alongside us. It was joyful, meaningful, and captured love shared in every way.

Our reception felt like a dream dinner under the Italian sun, with overhanging gardens suspended from the ceiling, shimmering chandeliers, golden candlelight, Costa Nova dinnerware and custom stationery tying every detail together.

Our wedding wasn’t just a day – it was an experience of love, family, and gratitude. A day where everyone felt part of our story, and every moment was lived fully and beautifully.
