STORIE:

Our wedding was everything we dreamed of — intimate, meaningful and filled with love.

My fiancé and I decided on a small, intimate wedding in our hometown of Graaff-Reinet. It felt right to celebrate such a special day in the place where so many of our memories were made. A couple of weeks after booking our venue, I had already secured my hair and makeup artist and found the dress — the dress that made everything suddenly feel real. It was elegant and timeless, perfectly suited to the romantic atmosphere we envisioned.

Shortly after our plans were set in motion, life brought an exciting new chapter. My fiancé attended a job interview and, in March 2025, he moved to Jeffreys Bay. I followed in May 2025, and we began building our life together there. Even though we had relocated, we had already booked everything in Graaff-Reinet, which meant planning the rest of our wedding long distance. Thankfully, with the technology available today, video calls and constant communication made it all possible and surprisingly smooth.

As the big day approached, we drove up to Graaff-Reinet a few days before the wedding — with our three beloved dogs making the journey with us. Having them there made it feel even more personal and complete. Seeing everything come together after months of planning from afar was truly magical.

Our venue was beautifully styled with soft, romantic décor that reflected our personalities — warm lighting, elegant floral arrangements and thoughtful details that created an inviting and intimate atmosphere. My dress felt even more special when I finally wore it on the day, and my husband looked incredibly handsome in his tailored suit, perfectly complementing the classic style of the celebration.

What made our wedding truly special was having our family together under one roof. The love, laughter and joy shared throughout the day reminded us exactly why we chose a small wedding — it allowed us to be fully present with the people who mean the most to us.
