ABOUT THE SPONSOR

The White Lion Lodge is situated in a Karoo Wilderness Retreat on the Route 62, offering a unique nature and wildlife experience near Cape Town.

The privately-owned White Lion Lodge is situated in the southern part of the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. It offers luxury accommodation, exceptional personal service and delicious cuisine combined with safari’s through a 30,000 hectares concession of the Reserve. The Sanbona Wildlife Reserve spreads over 58,000 hectares in the malaria-free Klein Karoo, along the Route 62, between Montagu and Barrydale, just over 3 hours away from Cape Town.

We operate a nature-based tourism business and like to introduce our guests to the biodiversity hotspots, Fynbos and Succulent Karoo Biome together with indigenous free-roaming animal species, that what the San saw hundreds of years ago.

The Klein Karoo is very rich in plant species. Almost 3,200 types have been recorded of which more than 400 are endemic.

Animals, which used to roam freely in former times, are being reintroduced to reserve. The network of wooded kloofs, valleys and river channels that dissects much of the Karoo provides habitat for specialist woodland browsers such as Black rhinoceros and Kudu; and in addition, makes for exquisite panoramic views from your private suite.

The White Lion Lodge offers four individual stilted, unique glass and thatch suites which will turn any non-bush lover into an immediate bush-enthusiast. Each suite boasts a spacious bedroom, dressing room, full bathroom and its own outdoor shower which is a definite must-try for any luxurious vacationer. Furthermore, each suite is equipped with a fireplace, satellite television, under floor heating, air-conditioning, mini-bar fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities that tick off every must-have item for a luxurious holiday stay.

Panoramic views over the riverbed can be enjoyed from your private wooden veranda, offering a picturesque view from the mountaintops. The bathroom offers twin hand basins, a spacious bath, separate rain dance shower, toilet and bidet which are cleverly decorated with hand painted fabrics and custom made furniture, which blend in with nature and the environment.

  6. This prize excludes: Travelling costs to White Lion Lodge.
  7. This prize is subject to availability.
  8. This prize is non-transferable and is not redeemable for cash.
  9. All beverages not mentioned and all other expenses will be billed for the winners own account.
  10. Flights and transportation costs are for the winners own account.
  11. The prize cannot be combined with any other promotional offers or specials offered by the White Lion Lodge.
